Tax Free Shopping Day
You've paid your taxes, now we'll pay yours! Come to Downtown Mitchell on Saturday, April 14th and look for the Tax Free Day posters in the windows of participating businesses who want to pay your sales tax for one day only.

Community Consignment Auction
MMS&B hosts a consignment auction twice a year in the Slumberland parking lot on North Main. Held at the perfect time to prepare for both summer and winter, clean out your garage or attic and bring out your treasures for this great event that makes you and Main Street a little extra money. Memorial Weekend in Mitchell
Held the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, MWIM has something for everyone. There are children's inflatables and games, a car show, a poker run, a ping pong ball drop, and live entertainment all day, leading up to Mitchell's only street dance in the evening. Hosted by Imagine Guild and Mitchell Main Street & Beyond, the event benefits MMS&B and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Join us on Saturday, May 26th for a day of fun on Mitchell's Main Street and support some great causes!

Historic Building Tours
On the 3rd Tuesday of June-September at 7 p.m., MMS&B tours a historic building in downtown Mitchell. Keep an eye out for the list of tours to be held this summer and join us for a private look at some our town's biggest treasures.
Stake Your Claim
For the past 5 years, MMS&B and downtown retailers have held Stake Your Claim during the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo parade. Buy your claim at the claims office and wait for the first horse "apple" to drop on your grid space in the street. You could win up to $250 if you choose the right claim.
Summer Crazy Days
Venture downtown the last weekend of July and pick up some great deals as local merchants put their summer products on clearance. It's a good time to stock up for back to school time and get some great buys for late summer. In addition, check out new fall merchandise in stores.
Caramel Apple Sales

Held on the 1st Saturday of December at the Masonic Temple, support local retailers by having your children or grandchildren get their shopping done at Christmas Shopping for Kids. Let our "elves" help your kids pick out the prefect gifts. All gifts are $10 and under and there's even free gift wrap.
Wrap It Up Weekend
The last weekend before Christmas is the best time to finish up your holiday shopping. So skip the long lines and full parking lots at the mall and finish up your shopping at local retailers. Many of our downtown businesses offer free gift wrapping for the weekend. Just ask!
